Fighting Breast Cancer: Thank You to the Squad

November 24, 2022

SquadLocker

SquadLocker, like many organizations was on a mission to support the fight against Breast Cancer last month. With 1 in 8 women in the United States diagnosed with the disease in her lifetime, this disease has touched so many of our friends and family.

As the leading provider of custom apparel to teams, SquadLocker was in a unique position to make pink items available in thousands of stores throughout the month of October. Each item was available for purchase with the applicable team store logo and store managers and customers were invited to shop with an outreach campaign and an exclusive promotional offer. “We saw an opportunity to make it easy for the larger SquadLocker community to help,” said Gary Goldberg, Founder, and CEO, SquadLocker.

SquadLocker donated a portion of the proceeds of this effort to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation (Gloria Gemma Foundation) located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Goldberg continued, “We felt it was important to support an organization that impacted the communities where we live and work. We are proud to continue to support Gloria Gemma Foundation as we have in years past and hope that our (collective) support helps those touched by this disease.”

SquadLocker was able to donate over $5,000 through sales of pink merchandise offered in team stores as well as employee donations.  “We are grateful for the support we received from our customers and employees,” said Goldberg.

Fighting Breast Cancer Takes a squad

Gloria Gemma Foundation provides free services to individuals and families touched by breast cancer in our local communities of Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts, and eastern Connecticut.

“Because of your donation from your ‘Fighting Breast Cancer Takes a Squad’ Fundraiser, we were able to fulfill our mission to celebrate and nurture life in our local community before, during and after a cancer diagnosis by providing education, access to wellness resources, and support programs to all those touched by cancer. It is a commitment we have made to cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones from almost two decades,” said Maria Gemma Corcellie, Executive Director of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.
