In 1978, Coach Phil Bruder began working with a group of female athletes to transform them into an elite softball team. Over the years, he has produced 13 National Championship teams, 350+ four-year scholarship athletes, 13 Olympians, and 139 collegiate All-Americans. Today, the team is known as the California Raiders, owned and operated jointly by Coach Bruder under the non-profit umbrella of Hope Learning Academy in Canyon Lake, CA.
